Lindsay Lohan Acknowledges Some Mistakes in Playboy Interview

Some of the leaked excerpts of the Lindsay Lohan Playboy story suggest that the troubled starlet is aware of the bad decisions that have ruined her career.

Lindsay Lohan is 25 years old and she has yet to shake the demons that have plagued her since she was in her late teens. In addition to numerous run-ins with the law and the methodical destruction of a once-promising film career, Lindsay Lohan battles her own psyche on a daily basis. Outside the courtroom and her community service requirements, the most significant thing Lindsay Lohan has done in the past five years - or more - is pose nude for Playboy.

The much-anticipated issue is already live at Playboy.com and is set to hit newsstands on December 16. The release date was pushed up after much of the pictorial was leaked and became searchable on the Internet. In portions of the interview with Playboy, Lohan acknowledged that she should have done things differently in years past. "Looking back, I probably would have listened to and taken more advice from the people whom I admire and would have followed through with it more," Lohan said.

She also expresses some confusion about why her life is such a focus of the tabloid media, at one point theorizing that it's just a matter of people wanting to know the intimate details of celebrities' lives. Without seeing the context of that statement, the first thing one would ask is whether Lindsay thinks that her actions and behavior may have drawn the attention of the tabloid media, as opposed to them simply seeking her out because she is famous.

So much remains to be seen with regard to Lohan's potential for a sustainable recovery from years of drug and alcohol abuse. Physically, she does not look to be healthy, and rumors abound about her use of crystal meth and other types of "hard" drugs. The upcoming Playboy issue will offer Lohan some opportunity to turn things around, but she'll also be greeted with new temptations to continue her downward spiral. The next few months could ultimately prove to be critical for the future health and success of Lindsay Lohan.
